Billet Piercing Machine
The billet piercing machine pierces a copper billet prior to beingextruded. Significant cost savings in material and production speed were experienced compared to the previous method of lathe turning the center hole in the billet. The Mitchell Piercer created no scrap and elongated the billet during the process. This allowed the customer to utilize shorter starting billets and increase productivity.
Billet Scalping Machine
The billet scalping machine very quickly and efficiently removes the impurities that exist on the outer diameter of a copper billet prior to extrusion. The "chip" produced from this process is 100% recycled.
